The John Richardson French Residency Award by The Hambly & Hambly Gallery
I am thrilled to receive the news that I am one of the artists shortlisted for The John Richardson French Residency Award by The Hambly & Hambly Gallery.
My submission is a large oil painting titled 'The Rendezvous'. This is accompanied by an original poem of the same title.
The Rendezvous
We will meet again when hair is grey but eyes still glow with the passions of life.
We will meet again when bodies are frail having carried the weight of living in sadness and grief,
but feet still glide with the memories of romance, laughter and love.
We will meet again as in our first blush of youth, beneath the shade of the old olive tree where we danced in the shadow of its leaves,
or upon the ancient bridge where first we kissed and whispered sweet love promises to the heart.
We will meet again in the twilight of our rest as precious echoes of past walk side by side, awakened amidst the fragrance of this enchanted land.
And here we stand, you and I remain the same, long faded but reunited, an everlasting flame.
